Some want an evening. Some want a day.
Some families want great photographs without making an entire day of it. Others want photographs built around something they already love doing.
Either way, we'll get the family photograph where everyone looks at the camera. The difference is how much of the day we photograph around it.

The rates below are available for sessions booked through March 31, 2027.
Guided Sessions
Some direction. Plenty of room to be yourselves.
We'll start with the photographs you know you want, then loosen things up and let your family take over.
A shorter session when you want the family photographs without making an evening of it.
Great for an annual update, a milestone, or because it’s been a while. We’ll keep things simple, get the photographs you came for, and leave enough room for a little personality along the way.

One location
One outfit
Up to 5 people
At least 15 edited images
5-image preview within 48 hours
Full gallery within 7 days
More time means less rushing.
We’ll get the family photograph, then keep going. Walking, talking, playing, and giving everyone enough time to settle in and be themselves. This is the best fit when you want a fuller collection without building the session around a specific activity.

Up to 75 minutes
Location planned around your family
Up to two outfits
Up to 6 people
At least 40 edited images
5-image preview within 48 hours
Full gallery within 14 days
Experience Sessions
Your family already does things worth remembering.
Pick something you genuinely enjoy doing together. A hike. A bike ride. An afternoon at the farm. A day on the river. I'll come along, give direction when it's useful, and photograph what happens in between.
Start with something your family already loves doing.
A hike, a bike ride, the farm, an afternoon on the river, or whatever feels like your family on a good day. I’ll come along and photograph it as it happens, with a few family portraits worked in along the way.
It doesn't have to be extreme. A walk to the creek counts. Pick something your family would do anyway, and I'll photograph it.
Includes:
Up to 90 minutes
One activity, planned together beforehand
Up to 6 people
At least 40 edited images
5-image preview within 48 hours
Full gallery within 14 days
For the days that don’t fit in 90 minutes.
Maybe it’s a morning at the farm followed by a picnic, a longer trail with a stop along the way, or two things your family naturally does together. This gives us more time to let the day unfold without watching the clock.
The extra time is for the day itself, and the photographs come out of that.

Up to 2.5 hours
One longer activity, or two activities that naturally fit together
Up to 6 people
At least 60 edited images
5-image preview within 48 hours
Full gallery within 14 days

how it works
Inquire: Tell me what you're picturing, or choose a session above. I'll get back to you within 48 hours.
Plan it together: We'll talk through the location, timing, and what you want from the session. If you're booking an Experience, we'll also plan around the activity. Then I'll send a short questionnaire so I can get to know your family a little better.
Shoot: We meet, we shoot, nobody has to say cheese.
Gallery: You'll get a few preview images within 48 hours, followed by your full gallery on the timeline listed with your session.

travel
Sessions include travel within 25 miles of Ashburn, Virginia.
For locations beyond 25 miles, travel is $0.70 per mile, round trip. Longer trips may require a custom travel quote.
Any parking, tolls, admission, or permit fees required for the location will be discussed with you before booking.
what's not included
I'd rather be clear about this before you book:
RAW or unedited files
Extensive retouching beyond my standard editing
Commercial or business use
Rush delivery
Location admission or photography permit fees
If something outside the session is going to add to the cost, we'll agree on it before you book.
booking
A signed agreement and retainer are required to reserve your date.
Guided Sessions: $100 retainer
Experience Sessions: $200 retainer
The retainer comes off your total.
The remaining balance is due 72 hours before your session.
One reschedule is included with at least 72 hours' notice. Additional reschedules may require a new retainer.
I understand that illness and genuine emergencies don't always give three days' notice. Those situations will be handled individually.
